Gov. Okorocha appoints sister as commissioner for happiness and couples fulfilment

Governor Rochas Okorocha has sworn in  28 new commissioners and 27 transition committee  chairmen  for the local government councils in  in Imo state. Among the new appointees , Ololo his sister was sworn in as commissioner for happiness and fulfillment . Ololo was formerly his Deputy chief of staff and special adviser on domestic matters . she was also the all progressive peoples congress candidate into the house of representatives for the Owerri federal constituency  seat in 2015 and has served several capacities since the inception of governor Okorocha's administration in Imo state.

15 persons die in Cross River State

The Director-General of the Cross River State Emergency Management Agency, Mr John Inaku, has confirmed the death of fifteen people who lost their lives in  21 communities in severe flooding in Cross River in July and August this year. Four major streets in Calabar South, including Goldie, Target, Yellow-Duke, Ekpo-Abasi and others were heavily flooded after a down pour early on Monday. Inaku listed Local Government Areas in the state affected by flooding as Obudu, Yala, Ogoja, Boki, Etung, Ikom, Obubra, Abi, Biase, Akamkpa, Odukpani and Calabar South. According to him, no fewer than 21 communities in 12 Local Government Areas in the state have been flooded with thousands of residents displaced. Biafra: Police Deploys Personnel To Southeast, Ready To Arrest Nnamdi Kanu

The Nigerian Police said it has mobilized more officers to the South Eastern and the South South part of the country According to the police, this was in a bid to prevent a breach of the peace, which may result from the activities of Biafran agitators ahead of the upcoming Anambra State governorship election. The police also said it was waiting for the court to give a go ahead for the arrest of the Indigenous People of Biafra leader, Nnamdi Kanu. Lagos Assembly to sue Nollywood actress, Ufoma Ejenabor over allegations of assault

The Lagos State House of Assembly on Monday said it will take a legal action against claims made by a Nollywood actress, Ufoma Ejenabor . Addressing a media briefing on the issue, Segun Olusesi , the Chief of Staff of the Assembly, said the House will make the issue a deterrent case. The incident,which happened on October 29 on Ozumba Mbadiwe Road, had two different accounts from the two parties. Bloody Sallah day in Nigeria, 33 killed

BREAKING:Massive Jubilation As Security Operatives Finally Arrest And Lock Up Nnamdi Kanu, 2 Others

Emerging report indicates that the Policemen attached to the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, F-SARS, have arrested one Nnamdi Kanu, of Umukalu village, in Abia State. Others also arrested are: Chigozie Akpara, Ndubuisi Nwoko, both of Umuokwo village, in Ukwa-West Local Government Area of Abia State. They broke into Oza Secondary School Asa sometime ago, and carted away eight Desktop Computer sets supplied to the School by the NDDC. The suspects confessed to the crime, and the stolen computer sets have been recovered. The same operatives while on patrol along Aba/Port-Harcourt Express way, arrested the duo of Agu Sunday and Chinagorom Nwaogwugwu, both males of Obigbor village Asa, Ukwa-West, in possession of three trailer batteries of 200AMPS each, Battery wire and charger. The items were stolen from Obimobio Nigeria Limited, Obuaku city, Aba/Port-Harcourt Express way. The suspects also confessed to the crime, and the items were recovered.

Foamy detergent rain falls in Enugu.

There was a strange foamy rainfall in Enugu on Saturday August 11. According to one of the residence of the state who posted some videos and photos of the strange sight, the rain was one of its kind.


The Academic staff union of universities has directed all its members against involving themselves in any academic activities. Computer village relocation:No going back on plans says LASG.

The Lagos state government has expressed an unrelenting determination in the  proposed relocation of computer village market located in the capital of the state . The planned relocation is part of Governor Ambode Akinwumi's plan of making Ikeja a model city as confirmed by the commissioner for information and strategy, Mr Steve Ayorinde. He said: "The Ikeja model city master plan designated the present computer village for residential use and the government will adhere to the plans to make the area more organized,serene and habitable. Gun men kill worshippers in Anambara church.

An unknown gun men stormed the St. Philips catholic church Ozubulu,  Ekwusigo local government area of Anambara state.  According to  information gathered by  the news agency of Nigeria, the gun men went into the church during the 5:45 am early morning  mass and shot a particular man.  The armed men later went on rampage,  shooting the rest members of the congregation.  The source however added that the priest of the church was not injured in the incident.    The commissioner of police in the state confirmed the incident  adding that more details will be given after further investigation.

Catholic priest resigns from priesthood. Says he is now free.

A catholic priest by name Rev.  father Patrick Edet has today resigned  from catholic priesthood. He made this disclosure during a live radio programme on Planet fm in Uyo. The anticipated replacement buses for the old popular yellow coloured danfo buses has finally arrived Lagos state. The new danfo buses are painted white and blue colour with a bold inscription signaling the new era of transportation in Lagos State. Indian student forced to remove bra over exam cheat fears.

An  Indian student was made to remove her bra following a strict dress code to tackle the wide spread exam malpractices prevalent in the school.  According to her, "A metal dictator began to beep during a security check on me and the security men ordered i shouldn't enter the examination hall if i do not remove my bra." Maitama Sule dies in Cairo

Maitama Sule, an elder states man and former commissioner has been confirmed dead in an undisclosed hospital in Egypt where he sought for medical attention. According to Alhaji Mukhtar Maitama Suledead, one of the surviving sons of Maitama ,the elder statesman died 24 hours after he was flown to Egypt. He also added that his dads body would be flown back to Nigeria tommorow for a befitting Islamic burial rite.  

Cabinet overhaul in Ekiti:Fayose sacks his entire commissioners

The executive governor of Ekiti state,Ayodele Fayose has disolved his two years old cabinet members. The commissioners whose appointment was initiated on the third of December 2014 according to the news agency of  Nigeria(NAN) were asked to hand over to the various permanent secretaries of their respective ministries. Among those affected by the change were Owoseni Ajayi (Justice), Toyin Ojo (Finance) and Kayode Ojo (Works) and many others. The governor also thanked the commissioners for their services to the state and humanity and and wished them well in their future endeavors.

Nemesis rages as another Badoo cult member is set ablaze

The dreaded cult members known for terrorising several communities  in Ikorodu  area of Lagos state stormed another  resident in the city on the early hours of today. Reports had it that the 3 badoo cult members were spotted by residents of  Igbo-Oluwo area of  Ikorodu  while trying to break into an apartment close to a gas station. The residents who were said to be holding a vigil alerted the local vigilante group at about 1am when they noticed strange movements in the area. The cult members took to their heels immediately they noticed the vigilante group were after them but one ran out of luck as he was apprehended by the security operatives. The suspect was detained till about 6am while being interrogated by the security men and residents of the area. Despite police intervention in the case, the suspect was lynched and set ablaze by the the angry mob who believed that  the police would later release him. Notorious billionaire kidnapper,Chukwudemeje George Onwuamadike otherwise known as Evans has disclosed that he feels uncertain about his fate right now. He also detailed the reason he had closed circuit cameras(CCTV) installed in all his houses and how hel felt the day he was arrested.Evans noted that he was not sure what the state government will decide to do to him now, especially with the new anti-kidnapping laws in place.
